The four-year, over 3,000 hour Chinese Medicine program at the acclaimed Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO focused primarily on the practice of Acupuncture and traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine. The remainder of the program consisted of graduate level studies in both Oriental and Western Medicine. Clinical training and practice consisted of over 1,000 hours of supervised clinical training. Naomi is certified as a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (N.C.C.A.O.M).
Naomi’s training includes Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture meridian theories and needling techniques, Qi Gong, Tui Na massage, cupping, moxibustion, Gua Sha, auriculotherapy, and Traditional Oriental Medicine dietary and lifestyle recommendations.
While in graduate school Naomi completed a 3 year internship with the well-established practitioner, Jack Schaeffer L.Ac, of Mountain West Wellness in Boulder, CO. The internship training was primarily focused around the healing energy system of the Yin Style Bagua lineage of the late Dr. Xie Pei Qi, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty. Specifically, she learned the Qi Gong system, tui na massage, acupuncture and herbal techniques of the YSB lineage. This internship proved to be an invaluable learning experience, that gave Naomi the tools she needed for more powerful healing.
Following in the footsteps of her Mother and Father, Naomi was originally on a western medical track. However, as she watched her mother suffer through the debilitating western medical treatments for breast cancer, she began to look at alternative forms of healing. A few years later, Naomi tried Acupuncture for the first time, and realized that Chinese Medicine was truly powerful. Through her education and personal experience with both Western and Eastern Medicine, Naomi understands the necessity and value of both modalities. She believes that an integrative approach to medicine offers the best opportunity for complete healing. Naomi is passionate about holistic healthcare and would love to share with you the amazing healing powers of Chinese medicine.
